F.T. Island Third Mini Album Release Return

Fresh off releasing their chart-topping Japanese album, F.T. Island returns to Korean music with their third mini-album “RETURN”. The band has focused mainly on overseas activities in the past half year so it's a welcome Return indeed for K-pop fans.

Representatives of FNC Music stated, “F.T. Island has earned great achievements in Japan, such as landing leading roles in Japanese dramas and placing second on the Oricon chart. They’ll finally be making their comeback into Korea, and the members are all working hard in anticipation of meeting their fans again.”

The mini-album comes with five brand new songs including the fast and fresh rock number Hello Hello.

Baek Ji Young Eighth Album Release PITTA

Baek Ji Young dominated the airwaves with her hit ballad "That Woman" for Secret Garden earlier in the year. Now she's back in full with her eighth album PITTA, her first album in over two years. Named after a bird species known for its colorful plummage, the album showcases the diva's charm in eight musical colors and styles.

Her title track “As Usual” features Bang Shi Hyuk’s characteristic composition style of beautiful, modern melodies and lyrics that drip with emotions. This ballad will surely have Baek Ji Young’s voice ringing in your heart for days thanks to her characteristic deep, husky voice.

Baek Ji Young teams up again with producer-composer Hitman Bang Si Hyuk, whose many hits include "My Ear's Candy". Bound to be another hit, their latest collaboration "Average", an emotional ballad about the painful wounds of love, is anything but average. Other than Bang Si Hyuk, many other top songwriters have participated on the album including "That Woman" composer Jeon Hye Sung, Ryan Jhun (composer of Lee Hyo Ri's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), and PJ who has composed for IU and AKB48.

Kim Ji Soo First Mini Album Kim Ji Soo

Mnet’s “Superstar K” contestant, Kim Ji Soo, recently released his debut self-titled mini-album, “Kim Ji Soo“. The album contains 6 songs: the title track, “Miss You So“, a self-written song “Fall in Love Soon“, a duet song by singer/songwriter Yozoh called “Puzzle“, and an acoustic song called “Luxury Song“.

Kim Ji Soo’s agency, Shofar Music, stated on May 18th, “The included songs overall give off a pop feel. Through the songs, listeners will be able to hear Kim Ji Soo’s musical growth since appearing on ‘Superstar K’.” The agency added, “We decided to name the album ‘Kim Ji Soo’ to emphasize his identity as a musician.”

Sunny Hill New Single Release Pit-a-pat Ost The Greatest Love

The "National Treasure Girls“, from MBC “The Greatest Love” revealed a music video for their OST song, “Pit A Pat”! On May 18th, the music video with Gong Hyo Jin, Yoo In Na, Lee Hee Jin, and Bae Seul Gi was released. The four girls are seen in the music video wearing a white dress, a feminine perm, and with cute expressions, making them resemble the old school girl group Fin.K.L

The drama, "The Greatest Love" stars Yoo In Na, Gong Hyo Jin, Cha Seung Won and Yoon Kye Sang of G.O.D. The storyline features a girl group and they are called the National Treasure Girls. They have a total of 4 members including Gong Hyo Jin, Yoo In Na, Bae Seul Gi and Lee Hee Jin of Baby VOX.

"Pit A Pat" is a song by Sunny Hill’s Joo Bi and had already received hot interest since the beginning of the drama. On the other hand, Sunny Hill will make a comeback in June.

BEAST First Full Length Album Fiction and Fact

After making their Japanese debut earlier this year, the group is now finally releasing their first full-length album Fiction and Fact. The album features eight totally new tracks, as well as the unplugged version of "Lightless" and an orchestra version of the second track, "Fiction".

The album's intro track The Fact leads smoothly into the emotional title song Fiction, which departs from the strong beats and sounds of BEAST's previous singles for a lyrical, piano-accompanied song about facing the pain of breakup. An orchestra version of the song is included on the album.

Fiction and Fact also features the pop ballad "Calling You", the R&B and electronic dubstep style Virus, the unplugged version of Lightless, and Freeze which is written and composed by Jun Hyung.

‘Freeze’ is one of the tracks which I’ll have to show favoritism! It’s just catchy, way too catchy in fact. I got into the song’s atmosphere on my first listen as anyone can clearly hear that this track is definitely a song that will get your feet moving.

2NE1 New Digital Single Lonely

YG Entertainment and Soompi have teamed up again to give you a written preview of the new 2NE1 digital single “Lonely.” The soon to be released MV teaser will add to the excitement of the digital single release later this week on Thursday.

The clothes worn in their latest music video are pieces from the French brand “Balmain“, which was launched in 1945 by French designer Pierre Balmain. In 2006, Christophe Decarnin became the director, and for the past few years, Balmain has become a hot trend in the fashion world.

The digital single “Lonely” has an acoustic sound to it interlaced with string instrumentals (violin/cello) throughout the song (heard in the first preview above). The acoustic sound is very pleasing to hear and is accompanied by vocal sets by the individual members which include sets sung in unison. The distinct sounds of a cello (some type of string instrument) fade in and out with the chorus sections of the song. It has a very chill and relaxing melody with the acoustic guitar playing throughout.
